Breeding update

Hi all,

We are happy to announce that we should be expecting a litter around the 13th of March due to go home around the 8th of May.

Mumma bear will be Inca and her baby daddy is again the big cutie Esko. This is a repeat from our last litter with Inca so feel free to check out what the fur monsters will roughly be like in previous blog posts.

Please note that this will be Inca's final litter. We are taking expressions of interest now.

6 month update

It's hard to believe that it has been just over six months since Inca's second litter went home to their families. We are super lucky to have kept in contact and have some beautiful pictures and stories to share with you all. Please enjoy :)

Ava the adventurous - note the before and after pictures on the back deck, the spider didn't last long

Lovely Luna - enjoying the beach near home

Mischievous Maddy - getting up to no good in the sandpit

Cheeky Charlie - one of them was up to no good, we haven't quite worked out which one though...

Beautiful Juno - check out that stunning dark face and happy smile :)

Kovu - what a handsome boy

Lucky - look how big and strong he is! Here he is with his real mum, looks like they get along very well :)

That time of year...

It is coming to that lovely time of year when wherever you look in the house, little tuffs of fur are starting to appear.

With summer just around the corner, now is the time to brush out those winter coats, trim nails and check ears for any nasties. Get out those pig's ears or dried liver treats and spend some quality time making your fur baby beautiful.

Here is the aftermath of Tragen's grooming session with Dianne. We find dried chicken a great bribe to get to those hard knots or ticklish feet.

Happy grooming!

So that's why the vacuum cleaner kept getting clogged..

Inca's Beach Date

Recently took Inca to the beach to watch her favourite human kite board. She had a wicked time and we took some very cool pictures and videos thanks to Shaun's phone [which is much better than mine]. Hope you like :)

I'm too tired to run after him anymore...

I'm too tired to run after him anymore...

Because she couldn't run like this during breed survey...evil dog

Inca's second litter goes home.

Sadly for us the time has come to say goodbye to our puppies from Inca's second litter. We wish all the best to our new owners and their furry babies and can't wait to hear the tales of fun and mischief they all get up to.

Thank you to Whittlesea Vet, Frank and Ildi, Ros and Phil, Melissa and Heidi, Roberto and his family, our owners and everyone who has had a part in raising this little munchkins. We appreciate and value the time and effort everyone has put into these pups, suffering our interrogations, being force fed cake and biscuits, visiting almost weekly and in all becoming part of our larger family. They say it takes a village to raise a child, same goes for seven little puppies.

Our first litter, one year on

Hi all,

We've collected photos from all our owners from Inca's first litter. It's scary to think that these guys weren't around just over a year ago. Check out how big and beautiful they've all become :)

Skye

Narla

Ace

Unfortunately we do not have an updated photo of Indi at this time as she got into a disagreement with a tiger snake and is on sick leave. She is recovering and doing well but her fur has been shaved and she doesn't look her best. We will update you when she feels better.

Tragen

Apache

We've known since they were born that we would have an extra pup when the time came and no matter how we presented it, Emma and myself could not bring the rest of the Eboninca team on board with keeping Apache at this time. So sadly the time has come to advertise the not so little Apache. We hope she will become a loving member of your family.

She is an intelligent, confident and loving short coat female. Her owners will need to put the time into her to train her clever mind, she is a bit of a blank canvas and will be suited to obedience, agility, tracking etc. She loves chasing the ball and is curious and confident in her surroundings. Apache is very loving and affectionate to people and is a more dominate character amongst her siblings.

If you think you are ready to give Apache a home and family please call Dianne on 0409 173 764 or Bethany on 0407 001 608 tomorrow onwards. Please be advised that we will not be taking calls today [Tuesday the 12th].

Six weeks

Hi all,

We had the puppies vaccinated and microchipped on Monday morning at Whittlesea Vet. None of them minded being felt over or the vaccination needle but the big microchip needle was a bit scary and hurt. We felt very mean but it's all done now. They were all very well behaved on the car trip to and from Whittlesea with no upset tummies or messes in the crate.

We are looking forward to the puppy party on Saturday and catching up with our owners on Sunday, hope everyone has a great week until then :)

Roberto's Photos

Easter Monday brought all our lovely puppy buyers and Roberto with his family to see the little fur balls. Again, Roberto was kind enough to share his beautiful photos with us and with you. Thank you to all who came, we hope you had a wonderful time. A special thank you to Roberto and his beautiful family for their generosity in coming and sharing their photos as well. We hope you all enjoy them.

Three weeks old

Hi all,

The pups are now three and a half weeks old and are starting to be weaned onto a formula/mushed up dry food mixture. All but Squirt [who will now refer to as Lucky as that will be his name when he goes home], are lapping but we are confident Lucky will have caught up with his step siblings by the end of the week.

It's lovely going down to the whelping shed now as all the pups greet you as you walk in. They've also started to explore the backyard a little when we change over the bedding in the shed. Almond isn't too sure about the lemon tree as of yet.

We've also had some worker boys around maintaining the weatherboards out the back. The pups have been howling along to the saws and are getting used to all the different noises around them.

Stay tuned for some photos in the coming days

Just over two weeks old

Hi All,

The pups are now over two weeks old and thriving. Their eyes are open and they are becoming aware of each other and us, as well as starting to master their own little legs.

We have also picked up an extra little boy from Frank and Ildi who unfortunately needed a surrogate mum. We've nicknamed him Squirt and he seems to be doing well so far, beating up his step sisters and brother almost as much as they've been beating him.

Collars are now on too so it is much easier to distinguish between the five girls.

Orange is Walnut

Purple is Almond

Green is Peanut

Yellow is Hazel

Blue is Maca

Pink is Apache

And the little boy without a collar is Squirt

We are super excited to see all our owners this weekend, hope everyone has a fantastic week until then :)

Roberto's Photos

Hi All,

Coincidence is a funny thing. It just so happens that last Sunday, Roberto had organised to come and take some photos of Inca before she gave birth. On the day in question, Inca decided to have the pups and so Roberto was able to capture some stunning pictures throughout.

A huge thank you to Roberto for being so kind and generous to us again by not only sparing the time to take these photos but by sending them to us and allowing us to share them with you.

Just a warning that some of these images are graphic as they are of the whelping process.

Puppies

We are extremely pleased to announce the arrival of six healthy baby Germans. With barely any warning on Sunday, Inca gave birth to five girls and one boy, the first interrupting our tradition Sunday brunch and making a little bit of a mess on the back deck.

She did a tremendous job, starting at 12.45pm and naturally delivering all pups by 6pm that night, taking to mothering like a duck to water and completely unfazed by our presence. We are super happy with how well everything went and we shall update you all in the coming days and weeks with mum and bub's progress.

Thank you to Whittlesea Vet, Frank and Ildi, Roberto and everyone else who helped us bring this little furballs into being. Go Inca!

Pregnancy Update

HI All,

We had Inca's x-ray today and have confirmed that we are expecting between four and six puppies. Fingers crossed that all goes well and we will update you after mother and babies are safe and well.

The Eboninca Team :)

Progress Update and Photoshoot with Roberto Vezzaro

Hello everyone!

Recently we were very lucky to have Roberto Vezzaro visit and take some stunning photographs of Inca, Tragen, Toby and our visiting corella, Cocky Boy. Roberto is a brilliant photographer, as illustrated below and we are super grateful for his time and his efforts, which are outstanding.

Inca is getting very large in the midriff area and is starting to slow down, unless you bring out a ball or mention the car. We will be getting an x-ray on the 15th of February and will update everyone on her progress. Fingers crossed for lots of healthy little puppies!

Inca is knocked up!

We are very very pleased to let you all know that Inca is pregnant. We took her to Whittlesea Vet on Monday and saw at least four little puppy heartbeats. We've taken four deposits all ready but are still accepting expressions of interest for this litter's emergency list. Please keep in mind that whilst this pregnancy is confirmed, we still have a month to go. Fingers crossed, no doubt there will be lots of picture updates as Inca's belly gets bigger and bigger.
